Jesse Lewis is a conservation biologist, educator, science writer, and photographer. During much of the year he teaches conservation studies for experiental education schools in wild places all around the world. Blending science and art he tries to capture direct and personal connections to nature through sense of place, intimacy, and reciprocity.

His photojournalism has been featured in magazines and shows, and he is a frequent contributing science writer for OurAmazingPlanet.com, the natural history branch of LiveScience News in New York. The Wallacia Project is an ongoing media project to focus attention on the role exploration and wonder plays in caring for and preserving our world.
